We can say two things about Vlad Dascalu's 2022 season. He has exceptional consistency as a true top rider and has a significant dose of bad luck. In Vallnord he seemed to be able to compete for the win until the last lap; then a breakdown slowed it down. we saw him respond to the attacks of his opponents, managing to keep the wheel of first until the last lap; what happened then?

These are his words: “In the wooded section I had to stop to realign the gearbox and my rear wheel seemed to touch the wagon; a hard blow, because the legs turned well and I felt I could do an excellent result, besides there were many friends who came to see me; so I would have liked to give him a great result ”.
Despite this he managed to keep a 4th place which demonstrates his splendid state of form.

An infinite series of failures

But Vallnord's is only the latest in a series of setbacks that marked Dascalu's season; he was unable to take part in the short track in Brazil, forcing him to start from the 4th row and to have to make a comeback race which didn't prevent him from dueling with Shurter. In Albstadt he broke the chain at the start of the short track and an accident affected his race at Lenzerheide (see video). Despite this series of drawbacks, Vlad has shown incredible determination, which is why he is now in second position in the overall standings.
