Puck Pieterse is the current winner of the XCO World Cup, a title that she should start defending in a few weeks in the two events that will be held in Brazil. But that will not be the case. The Dutchwoman will not participate in these events and joins the retirements of Sammie Maxwell and Ronja Blöchlinger have already been announced. In this case Pieterse preferred to give priority to the road.

The XCO World Cup trials in Brazil are losing stars as the day of its celebration approaches. Puck Pieterse is focusing on the road calendar at the start of the season and this is the main reason for avoiding the start of the XCO World Cup. The Dutchman prefers to focus entirely on the Tour of Flanders, incompatible with the trip to Brazil.

His retirement means there will be a new overall leader in 2024 following the unexpected dominance Pieterse exerted in the 2023 overall classification.

[email protected] I am a fan of everything that has 2 wheels: at a young age I practiced road and track cycling (Italian Allievi champion). At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
