In fact, from 19 to 21 July the Italian Absolute MTB Championships will be staged in the splendid setting of Pergine Valsugana, in Trentino. cross country and pedal-assisted vehicles which will involve the UCI and Master categories. We will start on Friday 19th with the E-MTB test, and then continue on Saturday 20th with that of XCO and conclude on Sunday 21st with the Master categories.
It should be underlined that the Pergine races will not only be important for the purposes of awarding the tricolor jersey, but will also provide crucial references for our bikers in view of the Paris Olympics. The five-hoop trials are scheduled for the first weekend of the event on 28 and 29 July and will take place just one week after the Italian Championships in Pergine, which will therefore represent a fundamental test for the selected Italians who will take part shortly thereafter. at the Games.
The Tre Castagni Park and the castle of Pergine are ready to host the green-white-red event, with the Italian Absolute Championships returning to Trentino 13 years after the last time when in 2011, in Peio, the national title was was conquered by Marco Aurelio Fontana. Years earlier, in 2002, it was Martino Fruet from Pergine who won the tricolor in the Trentino area and more precisely in Malè. We will find the champion and home idol again at the start of this edition, which will be the last in Fruet's career, long and successful like few others in the world of two wheels.
The work in preparation for the event by the Oltrefersina sports club is proceeding quickly, with the event which will also be combined this year with the Bruno Alverà Memorial.
