A combination, that between connected devices and urban mobility, which is now an integral part of the professional DNA of Claudio Carnevali and Gabriele Allegria, respectively CEO and CTO of Trackting: both of the Italian pioneers in open source IoT hardware in Italy, then decided to focus on the sector of smart GPS devices and services for two wheels, creating the first intelligent GPS anti-theft device for motorcyclists.

Today, thanks to its strong specialization combined with a corporate culture rooted in the IoT for over 10 years, Trackting is also opening up to another sector in the two-wheeler world, that of bicycles, to respond to the new scenarios of more widespread mobility. accessible and transversal to lifestyles.
In Italy, however, theft remains the first deterrent to purchase in 72% of cases. After all, one can count on a FIAB survey a bike stolen every 2 minutes in our country.

Claudio Carnevali, CEO of Trackting: “So far bikes and e-bikes have been easy targets for thieves, compared to other means, thanks to the fact that they are easier to steal and, on the other hand, difficult to recover. And it is precisely on the promptness of reaction that we want to aim with Trackting Bike T7. We help the user not only feel calmer every day, but above all a react immediately to the theft attempt, overcoming the fateful 'panic moment' ".

Trackting Bike T7 is a smart GPS anti-theft device which offers the user the peace of mind of knowing their bike is always under control, and at the same time the freedom to move without worries.
The product summarizes three fundamental characteristics:

  • it is versatile, because it is suitable for the most varied types of bikes, muscle and electric;
  • unique in its kind, for its slim and compact design (15x4x1cm, weight 30g);
  • flexible, because it can be applied both under the bottle cage, like a common spacer, and under the saddle.

In addition to the form factor and the discreet look, deliberately not recognizable, and the body resistant to shocks and atmospheric agents, the device is also safe against any attempts of forced removal, thanks to the special anti-tampering screws.

Features

Inside it has a lithium battery that lasts up to 1 year and is recharged via a USB port with magnetic connector, a GNSS module with a highly sensitive active antenna, and a multi-operator eSIM that works throughout Europe (49 countries). But the technological heart is the firmware, the result of Trackting's precious background, and a Cloud architecture developed as always on Microsoft Azure, to ensure maximum stability and security.

operation

Trackting Bike T7 works in a simple and intuitive way. After applying the tracker to the bike, the system communicates via mobile App with the owner who, with a simple gesture on the smartphone, can activate the anti-theft protection every time he gets off and leaves the vehicle. If from that moment the bike is moved, the device alerts the user of the attempted theft with three actions: phone call, notification in the App and real-time tracking of the bike (and the thief) on the map, where it indicates its position, direction and speed. Thanks to the precise digital accelerometer sensor, false alarms are reduced to zero.

Privacy

Like all other Trackting devices, Bike T7 also puts the user's privacy first and therefore does not track their movements, but only those that are necessary: the thief with the stolen bike.
At the same time, Trackting's anti-theft device responds to a fundamental need for every theft victim: to react quickly. Precisely for this reason on the App there are various functions such as the button to automatically dial the number of the Police forces on the mobile phone or the one to share the position of the stolen bike and thus facilitate its recovery.

Trackting Bike T7 will be available from spring 2023 at a price of 99 € in the best specialized stores as well as on the online shop tracking. com and on Amazon.
