Christian Hauser's voice is still cracked with emotion. After all, the joy of the first acute in the World Cup can't pass from one day to the next. Last Friday, June 9, at Lenzerheide, the Trentino rider, Val di Sole Bikeland athlete, amazed the world and first of all himself, managing to triumph on his debut in the Juniores category of the top world circuit.

With these assumptions, the stage of the Mountain Bike World Cup in Val di Sole (June 29-July 2) acquires a new element of anticipation. In addition to the experts Eleonora Farina and Veronika Widmann, the downhill blue nurtures the hope of giving satisfaction to men too, exalting thousands of fans from the very eve ready to climb the legendary Black Snake with the famous chainsaws.
“It was a huge emotion – confided Hauser. – I honestly didn't expect it, while some technicians and journalists had indicated my name among the favourites. After all, I was making my debut in the World Cup, with no references to the track or opponents. I'm very happy".
Even in victory, Hauser demonstrates ambition, clear ideas and a maturity that goes far beyond his age, just 17 years old. The Trentino rider from Mezzocorona has entered the competitive categories after having collected victories at the youth level, winning silver at the U2021 European Championships in 17 as well as numerous races of the IXS DH European Cup 2022. “This is a starting point for me . Now I know that I am competitive and I am clearly more aware of my qualities. I'm trying to have fun, I don't force myself to win but I know I can do it on the Black Snake too. The biggest opponent will always be the stopwatch."

Hauser will show up at the starting gate of the Black Snake for the first time on Thursday 29 June for the qualifying round of the Men Junior category. In case of shift change, you will take part in the final round, scheduled for Friday 30 June at 14.00 pm.
“It's an honor for me to compete on my home track – continued Hauser. – I love the Black Snake, it's my favorite track, and the World Cup in Val di Sole has been an unmissable event for me since I was a child when I was present as a spectator. The public will cheer for me, many friends will come, I'm proud to represent my team and Italy in the World Cup”.
“I always train in Val di Sole, between the bike parks of Commezzadura and Tonale which offer very different routes – explained Hauser. – The collaboration with Val di Sole Bikeland is very important, their support allows me to do quality activities even out of season.”
In 2023, Christian Hauser joined the "The Union" team, a team that focuses strongly on the development of young people, a breeding ground for talents who later become part of the great World Cup Factory Teams. “Young people are going strong nowadays, just look at the result achieved by Jordan Williams a Lenzerheide: Won his first career Elite World Cup race. Experience remains important but today we young people have a background that the young people of 20 years ago did not have”.
