The GE1 Evo Factory grips were developed for the toughest races of the Enduro World Series. They are an evolution of the GE1. The acronym GE stands for Grip Enduro.

The grip is soft thanks to a UV-resistant silicone-based rubber compound. The surface is ergonomic in full Ergon style: many processes to make the grip comfortable and solid.

The knob starts from a diameter of 30mm and widens to 34mm on the outside: it has an internal teardrop shape to allow for greater pressure distribution. The pressure distribution is designed to prevent tingling or numbness problems. The aluminum locking collar is positioned on the internal side of the knob.

COLORS

There are 4 colours: frozenmosse (in test), frozenorange, frozenstealth/grey and frozenstealth/oil.

The GE1 Evo Factory are available in Regular (tested) and Slim (reduced diameter) versions. The weight of the regular version is 105g per pair.

FIELD TEST

The diameter is 30mm (regular size knob) up to 34mm on the edge, having a differentiated section. This is a fairly standard size for hands that are not too thin (classic men's hand) or for those looking for more softness and absorption. We recommend the slim size to people with small hands or girls who don't have men's hands.

The collar has an UP writing which must be positioned upwards so as to have the greatest thickness of the rubber in the hollow between thumb and forefinger. The compound used is soft and with a technical glove it literally keeps you glued to the grips. The knob is not very thick, so it doesn't completely eliminate vibrations, but I would say that it is the right compromise between having a well-gripable knob and relative comfort.

Some doubts about the plastic interior: it certainly maintains the light structure but, in the event of a fall, it can crack. Ok, the wise man says "better not to fall" but being an enduro product I would say that it can happen. In our case it fell from a standstill in a parking lot and the damage was done. We have continued to use it without any problems but the exterior can feel like it is giving way.

HOW MUCH DO THE ERGON GE1 EVO FACTORY COST?

The Ergon grips are available in 4 different colors and on sale at the price of €44,95.

THE VERDICT

Among the best Enduro grips but fragile

Excellent quality: soft and grippy handle that allows use (without problems) even without gloves. It's a shame about the delicacy of the plastic interior since a fall is enough to crack it and make the outside of the knob no longer supported (and, in the most unfortunate cases, subject to rotation).

[email protected] I am a fan of everything that has 2 wheels: at a young age I practiced road and track cycling (Italian Allievi champion). At the age of 18 I passed into the cross country competing at national/international level as an Under23. Past Elite, I made the choice to take things more lightly from a training point of view, and my love for gravity disciplines was born, training me as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made passion my profession by managing 2 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Bike Center Elba and Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
