DH Sign, a made in Italy brand founded by Giacomo Gasparella based in Veneto, has in its catalog many products born out of passion by bikers for bikers. The company was founded in 2012 with the aim of producing the highest quality gravity components. Giacomo is a super passionate biker and can often be found at the start of the toughest races (Downhill, MaxiAvalanche, Enduro etc): all always with a smile on your face.
How can we not mention the FixShox, a system to make the shock absorber work on the axis, or Enormeus, a bike that wants to be “open source” (computer nerds will understand). And now many doubts arise among riders: have I ridden with the shock absorber off-axis until now? That's why, with that type of bike, every year I took out a shock absorber! If you want to learn more about this system, we talked about it here.
DHsign Agile Enduro HP
Coming back to us, the Agile Enduro HP chain guide was created for all those High Pivot systems, such as the Cannondale Jekyll that I usually use (read the test here), which need help to keep the chain in place (despite having a minimal chain guide on the upper pulley). It can happen, in high level riders, to lose the chain in these systems due to the very nature of the shock-absorbing scheme: as there is less chain tension, there are also fewer forces involved to keep the chain anchored to the chainring or to the pulley above.
FEATURES
DHsign products have "whip" technology which prevents the chain from coming out of the lower part following the whipping caused by violent impacts. 4mm carbon fiber plate and Carbon Hybrid 3D printed components. Easy to install with the Open Frame shape which allows installation without having to dismantle the cranks (although dismantling the crank makes the operations easier).
- 4mm 3K carbon fiber plate
- Bash 3D printed Carbon Hybrid
- 3D Carbon Hybrid upper fork
- ISCG5 three-point hitch
- Weight: around 70g depending on some parameters during production
- Compatible 10 / 11 / 12 speed Sram and Shimano and compatible
- Price: € 95
It is produced to be used with chainrings from 30 to 34. To be checked on the 28th but it is a slightly "outdated" set of teeth. I have always felt comfortable with DHsign products: refined finishes and substantial materials, to give the right look but not overshadow reliability (fundamental in gravity disciplines).
The Jekyll has only 2 pivot points for a possible Bash under the crown (it has not provided for an additional chain guide in addition to the original) and therefore the possible third hole above is not used and there the structure flexes a little if you push with the hand. But during the test she didn't give any kind of problem and everything always worked great. I would like to point out that I also tested this system during a 3-day enduro race, so the chain guide was put to the test
With the standard 32 chainring it fits perfectly. At the moment I use the 34 and with this chainring the chain guide fits millimetrically, so it wouldn't be bad to include a few millimeters more in channel height, to be able to give more light.
PROJECTED IMPACT
With DHsign you are always on the safe side: when there is passion, and the products are tested, it is normal for everything to work great. If you have a bike with a High Pivot system, and you don't want to worry about chain drops during the race or during the most intense phases, this is the perfect solution for you.
