Selle Italia Model Y, the saddle goes green

The Model y is the latest addition to Selle Italia to make use of the technology called Greentech for all its production phases.

A product that has made eco-sustainability its strong point. Made with totally recyclable materials, making use only of the collaboration of companies that are less than 15km away from the headquarters and with technological solutions that involve the assembly of each component mechanically, thus excluding the use of glues or chemical solvents.

These are the characteristics that allow Model y to enjoy sustainability certification, also validated by the start up Up2You which calculated the generation of 2,06 kg of CO2 for the production cycle of this component, with a saving of 34% compared to a saddle produced outside the European Union.

PROOF

A saddle with a neutral position, which allows comfortable use both for those cyclists with anteversion of the pelvis and for those with a more relaxed position.

The saddle is a very important element for those who ride a bike; it is the main point of contact between the vehicle and the man, as well as being the one on which the greatest percentage of the rider's weight rests. An incorrect position, as well as incorrect support, can cause various physical problems, making off-road trips annoying and less exciting. A topic to which we will return for a specific in-depth analysis.

For this reason, to test a similar product you need to take some time, in order to check how it reacts after long use, trying it in all typical off road situations, from long bumpy climbs to competitions and more technical sections. .

Excellent comfort even during multi-hour rides or enduro races; where in addition to the timing, other factors also come into play, such as tiredness and general physical stress.

The riding remains very intuitive, with the possibility of moving on the bike in a natural way, both when out of the saddle and in the actual riding sections.

It was also used during the last Italian Enduro Championship in La Thuile

In long, flat sections, which are often those that put the resistance of the saddle the most to the test, comfort was perfect; I didn't feel any discomfort even after a couple of hours of use with agile pedaling, the one that usually generates the greatest vibrations and stress on the pelvis.

An excellent product, which combines construction quality with attention to the environment, an element that must have ever greater importance in the industrial strategies of our sector.
