Scott Elite MTB shoe: the right model for all-mountain

These are the impressions of the Scott Elite shoe: an all-mountain model for MTB.

We had the opportunity to try Scott's Elite model in the women's version. A shoe that was created for all-mountain but which thanks to some interesting solutions can have a very wide range of possibilities of use.

The shoe

A model designed to have an easy fit taking into account the morphology of the female foot. Thanks to the system Buoy IP-1 and at the tear-off closure it is possible to customize any up to the winding capacity during the closure phase.

Excellent sole Ergological, a Scott patent that allows the shoe to be adapted to the cyclist's foot. Through the thicknesses it is possible to modify the support to be given to the foot, thus creating a sort of personalized insole.

The sole has a pattern x traction, designed to guarantee excellent grip in different off-road conditions; while the material used is sticky rubber, very reliable in terms of grip.

Lastly, the stiffness index should be noted, which is grade 8

First impressions

The first judgment is aesthetic, therefore very subjective. Beautiful shoe, with a refined and well balanced line. Every aspect is cared for and there is a harmony of shapes that does not go unnoticed. From a technical point of view the most important element is the Ergologic sole, in fact the possibility of modifying the internal insole is a great added value; in fact, very often an incorrect plantar support affects the muscles that are activated during pedaling, reducing their effectiveness; but above all, leading people to suffer from joint pain in the knees, hips and especially in the back. With this simple device it is possible to give a minimum of support to the plantar arch or to the heel. It is designed for all those situations where minimal support is required; for the most important cases it will always be good to make use of the help of a podiatrist.

The double closure with Boa and velcro allows to better balance the tightening; the release of the ankle is very valid, thus guaranteeing good freedom of action. The rigidity of the sole at grade 8 is excellent; in fact, unless we are talking about high-level athletes, the female audience has weights and above all push on the pedals lower than the males; consequently this rigidity is optimal, reducing the flexion of the sole without being too rigid for long rides; where a more sustained structure could lead in the long run to stress on the flat of the foot. Well the design of the sole, which manages to ensure good walking, a fact to consider on shoes with this orientation of use. Even the design of the sole allows you to always have an optimal gip, which gives confidence in all conditions.

Conclusion

When I received this shoe, I admit I felt a little envious of who should have worn it. A nice lightweight shoe, with a contained line that juggles well in all conditions.
