Let's find out why this shoe is the ideal choice for those looking for performance and comfort on any terrain.
Technical Characteristics
- SLW3 Closure: An innovative system, designed internally by Northwave, which allows for a quick and intuitive closure, ensuring a perfect fit on the foot.
- Seamless Upper: The seamless construction ensures superior comfort, minimizing pressure points during long hikes.
- TPU Protection: A reinforcement along the entire length of the shoe, ideal for protecting the foot from impacts against rocks and other obstacles.
- Innovative Sole: It combines the stiffness needed for efficient pedaling with the flexibility for the front end that makes walking easier, especially useful on steeper sections or when portaging.
- Anatomical footbed: It includes a foot arch support that improves muscle activation, contributing to more effective pedaling and better stability of the foot, which we talked about in an article some time ago

The test
After testing the Hammer Plus on various terrains and in different conditions, I can say that it is an exceptional shoe.

Lightweight, very comfortable and with an optimal lacing arrangement, enveloping without excessive stress points. The sole has a notable grip, the design that allows a great flexion in the front part allows you to walk better even on the steepest sections, especially in the portage.
The internal anatomical insole does its job very well, without creating any discomfort. You can feel its work while pedaling, when you feel a greater pressure on the lower part of the big toe and a greater activation due to the stabilization of the gluteus, two elements that indicate that the posture of the foot is correct. It goes without saying that this condition also allows for a more effective pedaling and with less energy expenditure, which thanks to the correct muscle activation also guarantees the protection of the back.
The comfort of the whole also translates into precision when driving downhill where the sensitivity of the foot becomes increasingly important.
Even on long excursions the Hammer plus continued to perform its task at its best in the best of all worlds, without ever tiring the foot.
The sole with the mobile front part is certainly a plus in walking situations, but it takes a few outings to get used to a different sensation in the front part.

Conclusions
The Hammer Plus is a versatile shoe, ideal for those looking for a product that can accompany them on any type of adventure, from challenging climbs to descents in the bike park. With its distinctive design and high performance, it is an excellent choice for any cyclist.
