Fizik Kassis: the new MTB helmet between design and technology

News from Fizik: after the presentation of the new line of helmets, the time has come to field test the Kassis, a helmet designed specifically for mountain biking.

Fizik has long taken a very personal stylistic path, characterized by original lines and eye-catching graphics, easily recognizable. The new MTB helmet is no exception: it combines a minimal and lightweight design with the adoption of the best available technologies.

Technology at the service of safety

The Kassis is built with a In-mould EPS structure, reinforced by a polymer bridge placed in the upper part to increase resistance in the event of an impact.

The protection system is the MIPS Air Node, an evolution of the well-known MIPS. This system consists of a low-friction shell applied to the base of the internal padding. The energy generated by lateral impacts is absorbed by nodes fixed via Velcro, designed to deform and reduce the force transmitted to the head.

Il regulation system includes a rear rotor with two positions (high and low) to adapt to the occipital area, while the micrometric adjustment allows for a precise fit on the circumference of the skull. Ripstop material straps complete the closure system, offering resistance and comfort.

From the point of view of ventilation, the helmet features a wide front opening and a rear surface designed to optimize air circulation even during prolonged efforts.

The large rear vents help dissipate heat

La adjustable visor provides effective protection from the sun and any branches, without compromising the field of vision. In addition, a Removable reflector has always been Integrated rear light (USB rechargeable) increase visibility on the road, making it safe even when outing in the evening or at dusk.

Field test

Compact, lightweight and comfortable: the Kassis amazes from the first use. Once you put it on, you have the distinct sensation of not having it on, without losing stability. Once adjusted, it remains firmly on the head, even on the most technical sections.

Despite its small size, it maintains all the characteristics of a modern helmet designed for theoff-road. Also interesting is the possibility of easily accommodate glasses or masks, thanks to the design of the rear air intakes, which facilitate the insertion of the rods.

La rear light is very powerful, a fundamental detail for safety in urban contexts or when travelling on roads. The fact that it is rechargeable via USB It's a significant plus, especially for those who cycle often.

Conclusions

Fizik confirms itself once again as synonymous with innovation and attention to detail. Over the years, the company has distinguished itself with products with a personal and functional design, such as shoes and saddles with integrated first aid kits. The Kassis helmet also reflects this philosophy: safe, comfortable and full of intelligent solutions, designed for those who live their bike every day, for hours.

A convincing product that will most likely become the ideal companion for our summer rides.
