XCC Leogang: Ferrand Prevot takes his revenge on the Pieterse

Pauline Ferrand Prevot finds a great pedal stroke during today's XCC and wins in front of the young Puck Pieterse. Jordan Sarrou confirms his excellent form and wins among men.

The women competed on the steep course after a storm blew up, making for difficult conditions as the course was dry and dusty before. Puck Pieterse proved no match for the power of Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (Ineos Grenadiers), who fought her way to the front of the pack to take her first win of the season. Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceuninck) crossed the line in second place, with Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing XC) completing the podium in third place.

Then space for the Elite Men with Jordan Sarrou (Team BMC) to win and Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon CCLTV) just two seconds behind. Martin Blums (KMC MTB Racing Team) took third place.

The XCC U23 riders enjoyed dry conditions on Thursday while today the elites had to contend with a totally different course.

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
