Tom Pidcock wins the world championship in a head-to-head match with Nino Schurter. Sam Gaze arrives very strong in the final and conquers the silver. Luca Braidot is 7th.

Ready, go and immediately one of the favorites is lost: namely the Dutchman Mathieu Van der Poel. In a gravel corner he loses the front and hits his face on the ground. He is forced to withdrawSEE THE VIDEO).

In the first rounds I am Jordan Sarrou, Nino Schurter and Alan Hatherly setting the pace, with the very bright South African. But it is Nino Schurter to give the first accelerations when he sees Tom Pidcock not in the top positions, on a comeback.

Tom Pidcock returns in the middle of the race and puts everyone to the whip: alone Nino Schurter resists. Nino responds to various attacks by the Englishman but has to give up when Pidcock fields yet another lunge.

From behind Sam Gaze comes up like a train and gets back on Schurter, also managing to gain on Pidcock in the last 2 laps but it's not enough to go and hang up on the Englishman, who at the end of the race will declare that he is under a lot of stress because the gearbox didn't work correctly (let's assume that the rear thru-axle was loose). Sam Gaze is silver, Nino Schurter bronze.

First of the Italians Luca Braidot, with a good performance which ends in 7th place. Bad arrival of Victor Koretzky, which risks downgrading given the bad gestures directed at the public.

At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
