CROSS COUNTRY
After last stage of Leogang, the fourth round of the XC World Cup will take place in Val di Sole. Absent Tom Pidcock, in preparation for the Tour de France, just like the other off-road phenomenon Mathieu Van der Poel. The men's race promises to be very open given the always different winners in the last few races. Nino Schurter will have no pressure, after the record of Lenzerheide, and we have to see if he will be able to find the right stimuli.

Mathias Fluckiger (Thomus Maxom) seems to be the man to beat: after Leogang's bad luck (puncture while forcing to lead the race) he will seek redemption. Other eligible names are Vlad Dascalu (Trek Factory), who comes from the victory of the European, Luca Braidot (Santacruz Rockshox), runs at home and is in excellent shape (together with his brother Daniele), Lars Forster, surprise winner in Leogang, Joshua Dubau (Rockrider), after the performance in Nove Mesto, and many others. As you can see, guessing the winner is very difficult.
XCO VAL DI SOLE ENTRIES LIST
Among the women, Puck Pieterse is in top form having won the European Championship: the young Dutch girl has already shown that she is capable of putting far more experienced bikers behind her. But Val di Sole is a demanding course, so all the "old" guards like Loana Lecomte, Pauline Ferrand Prevot, Anne Terpstra and Jolanda Neff are ready to take home the victory. Among the Italians, hopes in Martina Berta e Giada Specia.
DOWNHILL
La Downhill has shown very talented young people who are not afraid to put sacred monsters behind them: think of Jordan Williams, winner a Lenzerheide, and Jackson Goldstone, 3rd at Leogang but who could have won without a mistake in the last corner. In addition to these 2 young phenomena, the various Loic Bruni, Finn Iles, Loris Vergier and Andreas Kolb will not be watching. There will be many Italians present with Davide Palazzari and Loris Revelli to lead our Azzurri, even if Stefano Introzzi seems to be in the right shape to do well.

Rachel Atherton did not confirm the presence of women, after the victory of Lenzerheide. Many absences: Eleonora Farina will not be at the start, still recovering from injury, and Myriam Nicole, again struggling with a chronic headache. Camille Balanche, winner of the 2022 World Cup, will try to make life hard for all female riders, starting with Vali Holl, the favorite of the race after her latest performances.
