The 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Series made its debut in Poland this week with a route that put the athletes to the test due to the weather conditions. In fact, after a heavy morning downpour, the sun came out but the track remained damp.
And then there was Höll. The 2023 UCI downhill world champion put a broken chain behind her in qualifying to set the fastest time in the semi-finals. The 22-year-old launched with incredible force from the starting gate, but her race ended as quickly as it began: a crash in the first sector sent her violently to the ground. She quickly got back on the bike and finished in sixth place.
The third rounds of the UCI World Cup Downhill and the UCI Enduro and E-Enduro World Cups will take place in Saalfelden Leogang – Salzburg, Austria, from 7 to 9 June, while the Cross Country championships will resume next weekend (24-26 May) in Nové Město Na Moravě, Czech Republic.
