One of the best in these conditions, Pierron – the penultimate driver to take to the track – was impeccable, beating the competition with an incredible time of 3:43.976. Evoking memories of his 2019 victory here, the 28-year-old drove fans wild with an absolute masterpiece.
On the podium went respectively the Austrian Andreas Kolb (Continental Atherton) and the South African Greg Minnaar (Norco Factory Racing).
Veteran Minnar had held the lead since the first run, recovering from an early fall on an ice rink-like surface to reach the benchmark of 3.40.687. It looked like it would be Kolb's day when the Austrian took the lead, but his time was eventually demolished by Pierron.
WINNING RUN AMAURY PIERRON
Loïc Bruni (Specialized Gravity) remains in command of the general classification with 1.403 points, ahead of Pierron (1.187 points) and Brosnan (1.067).
