TES Abetone: Vittorio Palmieri's first overall victory

The dark side of the Apennines hit hard once again with the summer of Abetone which, in addition to the fantastic temperature and a beautiful sun, reserved another page of its "sample" for the TES athletes with a wind that blew on the top of Mount Elbow at over 130 km/h, preventing, for obvious safety reasons, the cableway from being put into operation.

All this did not prevent the TES organizational machine from transforming the race from mechanized into pedaling in the span of half an hour, thus allowing everyone to have another day of fun on the magnificent Gravity Park trails, this year profoundly renovated to make them more "flowy".
So round 5 of the Toscano Enduro Series became a little more tiring but certainly no less demanding. It was Vittorio Palmieri of the Abetone Gravity Team who, astride his Cannondale, achieved his first overall victory, overtaking his teammate Nicola Grotti who tried to worry him with the victory in SS1, but Vittorino's reaction was such that it allowed him to build up an advantage sufficient to bring him to the top step of the podium in the end with the victory in the other 3 SS.

Excellent third Matteo Baruffi of ASD Valcerisio Bike, with Nicola Grotti who, however, thanks to this result, takes the lead in the general classification of the championship.
Among the women, yet another victory for Nadine Ellecosta (Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team) also over Ancillotti, who dominated the race by winning all the PSs, thus overcoming the very young (17 years old !!! ) Giorgia Fiocchi who, climbing one step at a time after the third place in Pistoia, got the better of the tough Irene Savelli.

The Juniors saw Filippo Amerio of Pedale Canellese overtake Luca Donati (Arezzo cycling school) and the local Niccolò Ferrari.

Among the over 100 kids at the start in the Beginners and Students categories victory for the Abetone Vittoria Gravity Team with Matteo Falcini once again on the top step ahead of the Israeli Nohan Cohen, who came specifically to train on the Abetone paths and Vittorio Riva of the Fristads Merida Team. Also in the rookies Alberto Chiaromanni of the Arezzo Cycling School doubled the victory in Pistoia ahead of Alessio Ravaioni and Jean Leon Andreini, while among the women rookies Marta Fiocchi of the Porrettana Bike won ahead of Alice Farinelli of the Arezzo Cycling School.
In the masters Giulio Monnecchi's (SAM sport) series of victories continues in the M1s, while Federico Tamberi of the Bike Village prevailed in the M2s. In the M3 Marco Mazzi (Bicycleria) returned to victory, for the M4 the Brescian Gianfranco Danesi (Bacchetti cycles) got the better of Alessandro Bagnoli (I-MTB), while in the M5 it was Roberto Farinelli of the Arezzo Cycling School who won. In the M6s, Giuseppe Lividini returned to the top step and ruled Nicola Raffaelli and Stefano Vannetti, while among the M7s it was Andrea Consani who won.

Maximum entertainment also for the large crowd crowded especially in the Queens area, at the exit of the very classic "Chierroni" but also along the renewed TRITRI. Great satisfaction of the president of the Abetone Gravity Team Giorgio Vannini but also and above all for the team of Trail Builders, who led by Davide Demin and Graziano "Fabbro" Tisi, have put together a series of truly fantastic trails.
The tourist implications that the event brought to the whole territory in the days of the race and in the days preceding it were important, with all the athletes engaged for weeks in the tests and with over 3000 presences during the weekend between athletes, technicians and escorts and all the hotel rooms of Abetone literally stormed.

In the meantime, the TES steering committee has worked hard to give even more content to the circuit races with ever more important prizes thanks primarily to the Main Sponsor Garmin who has made its best electronic products available for the winners, but also to Ufo Plast who is back in the bike world with its clothing and protections that we all remember at the highest level and Vittoria Tires who was present thanks to its marketing director Diega Tosatto who came to discover TES but also Abetone, remaining fascinated by the beautiful Apennine mountains niche.
In addition to them, Ethic Sport is also very confirmed, which supplies all the products suitable for the athletes' dietary supplementation, Chamaleon Skin with its protective films for the frames, Scrimmage Socks, Prato Freeride, DRC Wheels, the famous frame manufacturer Pedroni, Esseci stampa, FT pro and the TopTa craft brewery which, as always, floods all the participants with beer.

So now green light to all enthusiasts who want to choose from the 8 slopes that descend from the top of Monte Elbow to the base of the cable car, but also directly in the towns of Abetone and the Queens to replicate the deeds of the TES champions. Also thanks to the rental that was renewed with the important agreement with the American brand Cannondale which supplied the brand new Jekylls set up specifically for use in the Bike Park, making it possible for everyone to have fun with this highly adrenaline sport. And precisely with a view to broadening the panorama of possible mountain bike users in the Tuscan capital of the mountains, Abetone has also developed the possibility of using the ultra-modern Moterra and Habit e-bikes, pedal assisted electric bikes, which make it possible to enormously expand the possibility of using the large network of paths that develop from the Abetone pass, or from the valley station of the Ovovia, where in addition to Downhill you can also rent e-bikes. To give everyone the opportunity to find their way around the dense network of trails, the "Abetone Trail Park" app has been renewed and translated into English. It is available free of charge both on Apple platforms and on the Android Play Store, and which allows you to view maps and characteristics of over 20 trails, allowing anyone with a smartphone to use it as a real GPS by following the path chosen on the map.
