Jordan Sarrou (Team BMC) passed Nino Schurter (Scott-SRAM MTB Racing Team) sprinted to victory in an elite men's race full of twists and turns.

The Frenchman found himself in the lead on lap 5 after an error Nino Schurter, which acted as a cap, in one of the many technical uphill sections on roots. The most active in the lead, to get back on Sarrou, were Koretzky, the surprise Guerrini, Schurter and Fluckiger. World champion Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) demonstrated that he has a fantastic leg: after taking the lead in the race he had to stop in the pits with a puncture. Subsequently, he managed to rejoin the leaders but had to stop again. In the end he finishes in 5th place with a strong comeback!

German Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon) also suffered a puncture when he was setting the pace in the lead with Jordan Sarrou. Nino Schurter he ran a super intelligent race, demonstrating that even in the absence of a perfect leg, he always manages to be ready. In the final sprint Sarrou put his good speed skills to use, leaving the former world champion on the spot. Guerrini finishes 3rd: great race from him! Matthias Flückiger (Thömus Maxon) comes fourth while Pidcock is fifth.

Schurter retains the leader's jersey ahead of the final race in Canada next weekend.

The American leg was also the day of Henrique Avancini's retirement from competitions: exciting moment.

Worth noting is the good performance of Filippo Fontana, in the top 20, together with Daniele Braidot (best Italian) followed closely by Luca Braidot. Nice to see Filippo Colombo slowly returning to the top after the bad injury this year at Paris Roubaix: he finished in 9th place starting far back on the grid.

At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
