The 2025 Absa Cape Epic promises to be a rollercoaster ride, with the Olympics coming in the year after, meaning the athletes aren’t hungry for UCI points and have a bit more room to think.
There is a lot of excitement for this new season. The team has changed a bit and I can't wait to get started. For me the biggest news will be the Cape Epic with Braidot. I have no idea what to expect, we'll find out as the race develops. Maybe we'll fight for the general classification or maybe we'll go for a stage win. After that I'll focus on the World Cup, where I had a couple of top 5 finishes last year that I'd like to convert into podiums. Having a contract until 2028 allows me to compete with a clear head and less pressure. A huge thank you to the team – Simone Avondetto
My main goal for 2025 is to find more consistency. I want to get back into the top three in the overall World Cup results and aim to win a race. The World Championship is still a big goal, but I need to keep up a consistent performance instead of putting all my hopes in one race like last year. The Cape Epic will be a new challenge, I'm training hard to be ready. It's not usually the time of year when I give my best, but that's why it motivates me so much. Racing alongside Avondetto gives me extra motivation and, even though it's the first time we've done this race, I think we can make a positive impact. – Luke Braidot

Even though the Wilier Vittoria team has disbanded its XCM division, it is clear that it has a great deal of experience in this type of competition, an aspect that could play in favour of the Italian duo.
