XCC Snowshoe: Koretzky super! Martina Berta is 6th among women

The 7th stage of the Short Track World Cup took place in Snowshoe. Here are the results.

Richards and Koretzky proved unstoppable in West Virginia as the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike Short Track World Cup heads overseas to Snowshoe, in the United States.

In the women's race, no one was in any doubt about the power of Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing XC) who launched a devastating attack with two laps to go and never looked back.

Richards crossed the finish line five seconds ahead of Pieterse while Australian Rebecca Henderson (Primaflor Mondraker Genuins Racing Team) was third a further four seconds behind.

Pieterse retains the overall leader's jersey ahead of the final stage in Canada next weekend.

And among the men, Victor Koretzky (Specialized Factory Racing) attacked on the final climb, making the difference. A group of eight had started the final lap in a close race led mainly by series leader Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon CLLCTV), but it was Frenchman Koretzky who had the legs to make the decisive move ultimately crossing the finish line with two seconds ahead of title challenger Jordan Sarrou (Team BMC) and four seconds ahead of Schwarzbauer.

In terms of overall, Schwarzbauer's third place and Sarrou's second mean the German cannot rest easy by leading his French rival by 190 points ahead of the final round of the season with 250 points still up for grabs.
