The women's race started with Pauline Ferrand-Prevot and Savilia Blunk taking the lead and gaining an advantage over their other rivals. From the start it was clear that it would be a fight between the two riders. On the last lap the attacks began, until Pauline Ferrand-Prevot managed to get rid of Savilia Blunk and managed to win with a time of 1h11:32.
In the men's race, Sam Gaze was the biker who took charge of the race. But in his path he found an extraordinary Tom Pidcock who didn't let Gaze escape and kept the race under control. Then, in the final stretch, he attacked, taking his first MTB victory of the season.
ITALIANS
Among women, good 6th place for Greta Seiwald (Dechathlon Ford). In 24th place we also find Jana Pallweber (Sunshine Racer Nals). Among the men, no Italians present at the start (some well-known names they were engaged in the Abu Dhabi international).
