Richards stayed covered until the end to attack on the final climb, thus detaching Alessandra Keller (Thömus Maxon) and Nicole Koller (Ghost Factory Racing) from her rear wheel.
HIGHLIGHTS ELITE WOMEN
Richards never relinquished her slim lead at the top over Decathlon Ford Racing Team's Samara Maxwell, the only one to survive the initial acceleration, as the UCI XCC World Champion shook off the demons of the concussion she suffered in Araxá last season.

The Elite Men's race didn't offer the same adrenaline-filled race from start to finish, but it did produce an even more thrilling finish with two teammates going toe-to-toe. Blevins and Victor Koretzky battled with third-place finisher Mathis Azzaro (Origine Racing Division) who could only watch.
