Round 4 of the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup in Oudenaarde, Belgium is over!
Source: press release
Cyclists from all corners of the world gathered in Oudenaarde, right in the heart of Flanders, a region where cycling has almost become a religion. Local fans came out to see the show, on a treacherous street circuit where speed skyrocketed and mistakes proved costly.

Lorenzo Serres from France, winner of Oudenaarde in 2021, sprinted to first place in the qualifying time trials, while German champion Marion Fromberger set the fastest time in the women's group. So far for the expected: in the heats that led to the big finals, many of the big names came out.
UCI World Champion Titouan Perrin-Ganier from France was eliminated by a problem in the round of XNUMX, “Mustache Man” Simon Gegenheimer was eliminated in a hard-fought quarter-final. And outsiders Line Mygdam, Annemoon van Dienst and Didi de Vries (both crashes) did not make it to the women's semifinals.

The last heat of the women's race turned into another good old Fromberger-Tormena duel. This time it was Tormena who grabbed the power, beating Fromberger with an impressive drive to the finish. After a great race, the up-and-coming talent Agnes Abrahamsson from Sweden managed to take a well-deserved third place.

As many as three French riders made it to the long men's final, but were all ultimately beaten by an aspiring Norwegian talent. 19-year-old Sondre Rokke led the race from start to finish, taking his first UCI World Cup victory. Lorenzo Serres had to settle for silver, finishing ahead of his compatriots Quentin Schrotzenberger and Thibaut Kahlhoven.
