All eyes were on Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin–Deceuninck) on his return to MTB action in the elite men's race, but He crashed twice on the starting lap before retiring.
Great race by Filippo Fontana who finished in 7th place!
With no Van der Poel to worry about, Blevins has proven his class , holding the lead before accelerating on the penultimate lap. The American celebrated with a “low five” to the crowd on the home straight, such was his dominance, doubling up after claiming the UCI XCC World Cup on Saturday.
