The Santa Cruz FSA MTB pro Team athlete, bronze medalist at the World Championship in Les Gets and last year second only to Gerhard Kerschbaumer, this year had to contend with his twin brother Daniele, at the start with the intention of evening the score for tricole titles.

At the end of the 5 laps of the 3,9 km of track designed on the slopes of the Crespignaga hill, it was Luca who had the upper hand: thanks to a puncture remedied in the second lap by his brother, a GS Carabinieri rider, the race turned into a 2-man challenge between Luca Braidot and Gioele Bertolini. At the end of the fourth lap Luca puts the turbo on, detaches his rival and ends the race alone, with an advantage of almost a minute over Bertolini. Third step of the podium for Filippo Fontana.
