Marine Cabirou (Scott Downhill Factory) tamed the super dry and slippery course, pushing speed to the limit of grip to win the sixth round of the World Cup downhill of UCI mountain bikes.
It was a nice victory for Cabirou: at home (France) and after a bad injury that tested her recovery. The 26-year-old broke out in a cold sweat when world champion Valentina Höll (Rockshox Trek Race Team) showed up at the start, but the Austrian fell in the first corners and finished in 10th place.
Slovenian Monika Hrastnik (Dorval AM Commencal) finished second by just under four seconds with a precise and aggressive run. Nina Hoffman (Santa Cruz Syndicate) is third about half a second behind. Höll continues to lead the series with two North American races to come.
Fantastic Gloria Scarsi who finished in 5th place, in her 1st year in Downhill. Top 10 for Eleonora Farina, who finished 8th (victim of a slip).
