The American weekend has in fact crowned Fabian Rabensteiner including winner of the general classification of the Marathon World Cup for the second consecutive time (550 points in 3 races), after a race conducted to perfection from the first kilometre.

In the 100 km race scheduled, Rabensteiner, who was running in the leader's jersey, only had to control the attacks of the Colombian Hector Paez, the closest in the standings, without however giving up a few attempts to try to take home the last stage. In the end, the race proved to be not very selective, with 9 riders who all arrived at the finish line together: the victory went to the German Simon Schneller and Fabian finished in third place, sealing the final victory. 11th place, instead, for Samuel Porro, who placed 4th in the general classification (410 points), just 5 points away from the podium won by Schneller.
“Taking home the World Cup for the second time in a row is a truly enormous satisfaction. – admitted Rabensteiner -. Last week's American World Championships didn't go very well because of the physical problems I had recently. Today (yesterday, ed.), however, I finally felt that my leg was turning again as I wanted. I tried to win the stage, but the end was a bit chaotic and 3rd place is great, since it allows me to win the general”.
