Two close UCI Mountain Bike Marathon (XCM) World Cup races in Nové Mĕsto Na Moravĕ (Czechia) brought gold to Italy and a pair of podiums to Namibia. Both the men's and women's races took place on the same 123km course comprising two long, mostly flat loops plus a steep, technical section on the XCO track.
In the men's race a group of four riders, Fabian Rabensteiner, Alex Miller, Samuele Porro and Marc Stutzmann, led the way from the 1st lap. Rabensteiner used his excellent technical skills to maintain his lead on the final climb. Behind him, Samuele Porro looked great but was unable to outsprint Alex Miller, finishing in a very good 3rd place.
