EDR Leogang: Jesse Melamed and Ella Conolly win in the mud

Extremely difficult conditions in the 4th round of the Enduro World Cup: mud and wet roots were the masters. Great Nadine Ellecosta (4th) and Tommasto Francardo (8th).

The toughest test of the UCI Enduro World Cup so far saw two intense battles for the Elite victory, with Jesse Melamed (Canyon CLLCTV Factory Team) ed Ella Conolly who have proven themselves worthy winners in Austria's largest cycling region, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Trails.

MEN'S ELITE RACE

Jesse Melamed He overcame an unpromising start to triumph in the men's Elite race, finishing fourth in a long first stage that looked likely to make an immediate impact but ultimately produced only small gaps.

The Canadian made the difference in a very varied third stage that finally established the starting order, with Murray losing five seconds and Slawomir Lukasik (Yeti / FOX Factory Race Team) e Jack Moir (YT MOB) who slipped further in a race where one mistake could have knocked anyone out.

William Brodie took a surprising victory on stage four, with all the favourites breaking away, but Melamed was the one who lost the least time, consolidating his lead, now in double figures. The Canadian was again the fastest on the Knappen Trail, so staying in the saddle was the priority on a sixth stage that wound along a real downhill path, and he succeeded, finishing sixth, just a second behind Daniel Booker.

ELITE WOMEN RACE

Simona Kuchynkova (CUBE Factory Racing) delivered on its promises in 2025, moving up to Elite racing and taking on the toughest challenge it has ever faced, the one with Ella Conolly , but was unable to prevent the British driver from winning her second race of the season.

Everything seemed to be going smoothly for Conolly as she opened up with a 38-second lead over Kuchyňková in the first three stages, with Nadine Ellacosta (Abetone Ancillotti Vittoria Factory Team) and Winnie Goldsbury the only other female bikers within a minute.

However, an unusual off-stage turn on the less challenging Hangman 1 brought Kuchyňková and the rest of the field back into contention, as Conolly crashed and lost 20 seconds to her nearest rival, although Goldsbury and Ellecosta failed to capitalise as well.

That lead was further reduced when Kuchyňková won her second consecutive stage on a Knappen trail that made it nearly impossible to keep the right line. So Conolly entered the final stage with a 16-second lead, knowing that she probably couldn't be overtaken with a clean run, but that any mistake could hand the victory to the Slovakian.

But the Briton responded like a champion, refusing to slack off and taking the stage and round, building up a lead of almost 500 points over Kuchyňková in the overall standings at the halfway point of the season.
