Qualifying took place today where the top 40 women and top 80 men will race in tomorrow's finals. But given the numbers at the start (82 men and 37 women) almost all the athletes were qualified regardless.
ELITE WOMEN
Eyes on Rachel Atherton, who runs not too far from home, but all the underdogs are on the Austrian Valentina Holl who sets the fastest time. Nina Hoffmann was also at the start, after a bad crash in practice which cast doubt on her departure. But she closes far from the first (28 ^).
FALL NINA HOFFMANN
The Italians did well with surprising Gloria Scarsi 4th and Veronika Widmann 5th. Not good Eleonora Farina who finishes in 27th place: we remind you that she is back from a serious injury but let's hope for a good run tomorrow.
ELITE MEN
The inevitable Loïc Bruni sets the best time! Always very strong when it comes to raising the level during big events, the Frenchman proves he is in contention for yet another rainbow jersey (it would be his 6th).
Immediately behind we find the winner of Leogang Andreas Kolb, followed by Bernard Kerr and Thibaut Daprela. The Italians did well with 19th place for Loris Revelli and 21st for Davide Palazzari.
Among the small disappointments, we note the 22nd place of Jordan William, the 66th of Laurie Greenland and the 79th (and last) place of Finn Iles. We recall that Amaury Pierron , Aaron Gwin and Jackson Goldstone are absent due to injury.
