The latest medal comes from BMX thanks to Tommaso Frizzarin, who conquers the third place on the podium in the junior round beating the Colombian Velasquez Carmona by just one thousandth, who has to settle for the wooden medal. Gold and silver to Argentina, which occupy the first two steps of the podium with Thomas Maturano and Federico Capello.

A success that comes at the end of a troubled season, as the blue tells us: “This year has been all uphill for me, but finishing with this medal leaves me with great satisfaction. The race was a lot of fun: in the final I started a little wide because I missed the quarter-final, going through the first corner, but I played it out to the end with the Colombian and I got the better of it”.

Italian BMX is therefore once again the protagonist in a world final two years after Marco Radaelli's gold in Papendal. Just Radaelli gives away the second final of this day, among the U23s. The Army athlete finishes in eighth place, but it deserves to be remembered that he was the youngest of all the finalists and that this season he has always maintained a high standard of performance.
Among the Elite women, Francesca Cingolani fell in the semifinals: a pity for the blue, who however collects points from an Olympic point of view.
Head coach Lupi was happy, underlining the positive aspects of this world championship: “We took two young riders to the final and conquered a podium. The results come not only for a single athlete. The group at my disposal is very young. Well done Frizzarin and Radaelli, but also well done Francesca Cingolani, an under that we have lined up among the elite from an Olympic point of view, and Martti Sciortino, who is slowly returning to the levels he deserves after the bad injury.
