Last May, Vlad Dascalu was sentenced to 17 months in prison for three missed tests in a 12-month period. We remind you that athletes must ALWAYS declare their position and be available 24 hours a day for any surprise doping tests. Vlad Dascalu appealed but the TAS rejected his appeal, rejecting it and confirming that Vlad Dascalu will have to serve the entire 24-month sanction imposed. His sanction will expire on October 20, 2025.

This is the short note with which the UCI confirmed that the sanction must be served in full:
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announces that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the appeal lodged by Romanian cyclist Vlad Dascalu against the decision issued by the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal on 21 May 2024.
The CAS confirmed that Mr Dascalu committed an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV) and upheld the 17-month suspension imposed by the UCI Anti-Doping Tribunal (21 May 2024 – 20 October 2025). Mr. Dascalu's breach stems from three mislocations over a 12-month period.
The UCI welcomes this decision, which reflects its commitment to protecting the integrity of cycling. The CAS ruling will be published on the UCI website in due course. The UCI will not be making any further comments on the matter. – UCI
