Alpago MTB: En-plein of Giada Specia. Among men Cameron Orr

The large advantage with which he started in the last chapter of the Internazionali d'Italia Series allowed Daniele Braidot the luxury of being able to manage to achieve the final victory of the circuit, and so he did: the third place in Alpago proved, in fact, more than enough.

However, there was no expected family duel between the Braidot twins because it was Cameron Orr (Wilier-Pirelli), who finished his winning race in 1:20:03. The British bowed the resistance of Luke Braidot (Santa Cruz-Rockshox) only in the final metres, in a race made tough by the heat.

VIDEO RECAP

Behind them, Daniele Braidot finished in third place 23” behind the winner, gaining the points needed to secure first place in the general classification.

“Winning the Internazionali d'Italia Series title is what I wanted, I've never succeeded before and I'm very happy to have achieved this goal – the words of Daniele Braidot at the end of the match -. Today it was very hot, and we remained compact until the final stages of the race. I tried to win but there were those who had more than me. That's okay, the most important thing was the final success”.

The race was very tight up to the last meters with six athletes protagonists. In addition to the twins Braidot and Orr, Filippo Fontana (CS Carabinieri), Gioele Bertolini (Trinx Factory Team) and Alessio Agostinelli (KMT-Protek-Elettrosystem) ran in the leading positions. The six set the pace in the first four laps before Agostinelli waved the white flag losing the wheels of the company.

None of the five remaining in front, however, managed to make the difference despite the attacks of the Braidot twins in the penultimate round. The situation was thus decided in the last lap, when Cameron Orr gave the decisive acceleration closely followed by Luca Braidot, while Daniele gave them a few meters. Only in the final kilometers did the Briton manage to definitively break the resistance of the Santa Cruz-Rockshox rider, thus establishing himself on the finish line.

“I didn't expect to be able to win today, it's really an incredible success – analyzed Cameron Orr after the victory -. I stayed in front until the end and in the last lap I tried to pull away from the others, it went well. It was certainly a wonderful weekend for Wilier-Pirelli, tonight we need to celebrate”.

Gioele Bertolini concluded in fourth position, with Filippo Fontana closing the top five. Alessio Agostinelli had to settle for sixth position. Among the Under 23s, Emanuele Vega Bocchio (ASD Rock Bike Team) prevailed with Emanuele Andreas Vittone (KTM-Protek-Elettrosystem) who instead won the general classification of the circuit.
