After the very serious fall at Rampage, Gee Atherton gives us an update

Gee Atherton has been making a lot of headlines lately due to injuries.

After the long rehabilitation from the disastrous fall on the trails not far from home in 2021, the Briton returned in 2023 immediately participating in the Red Bull Rampage, but a disastrous fall brought him back down to earth. In this fall he suffered damage to his skull and spine. Here are his words.

After the Rampage accident last year, I was pretty beat up. The first priority was to get home, find out what the damage was and see how to repair it. As usual, it's never as simple as you'd hope, but with a good team of people we've started the rather slow process of getting me back on track. As you can see from the photos, it was a bit tiring, but things are going well now. Physiotherapy is going well and I'm counting the days until I'm back on the bike. As always, thanks to the incredible team and everyone who is supporting me – Gee Atherton

We wish him a speedy recovery.

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
