The Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team could not have started the 2024 Andalucia Bike Race in a more encouraging way.

Head, heart and many legs. There really was no better way to start the 2024 season for the Wilier-Vittoria MTB Factory Team and, in particular, for Samuele Porro and Fabian Rabensteiner.

The Italian couple in fact won the Andalucia Bike Race at the end of a week always lived in front, attacking when there was a need to attack and defending when there was a need to maintain the advantage.

From Bedmar to Cordoba, passing through Jaén and Adamuz, 6 days were useful for Porro and Rabensteiner, not only to take home one of the most coveted and prestigious stage races in the Marathon field, but also to understand that the work done in winter was more than satisfactory.

The Wilier-Vittoria bikers won the second stage, then always remained in the wake of their rivals and managed the advantage without too many problems in the final timed trial in Cordoba. “It was a good week, because I came here without particular ambitions as it was the first real race of the season, but right from the start I felt good and my leg was spinning as I wanted – said Rabensteiner, with his third Andalusian success after the one in 2020 and of 2023 -. With Samuele we managed ourselves well, we raced with our heads and with this feeling, in my opinion, we can do something good at the Cape Epic".

For Porro, however, it is the first success in this match: “Starting the season like this gives morale and conviction in view of the next few weeks – said the Como native -. I had fun and I want to thank Fabian, the sponsors and the staff who supported us these days. We're only at the beginning, but I can't wait for the next commitments to arrive."

Daniel Geismayr can also smile who, paired with Jakob Dorigoni, took home a good 5th place finish, after a week always lived close to the leaders. “It was a good week, perfect for tweaking your condition in view of the Cape Epic – said the Austrian -. Everything went according to plan and, personally, I already feel in good shape. Another positive note are the materials, which I had a great time with, and the support of our team. Go on like this!".
