In the post, accompanied by video of the accident, Johnset thanked the event's medical staff for transporting her quickly and safely from the hill to the hospital.
Wow, what a fantastic day! It was the best day ever, until it suddenly ended. I managed to land every single jump, but when the last one came around, I came up a little short and ended up over the handlebars.
I'm so sorry I can't race this weekend. I really thought I could do it, but at least I gave it my all. A huge thank you to the medical staff for saving me from the descent and getting me to the hospital so quickly. And a huge thank you to Red Bull Bike, Red Bull Australia, and Kait for taking care of me. I can't wait to see all the racing on Sunday. The girls were amazing yesterday, so it's going to be a crazy weekend anyway. Thousand Johnsets
After surgery on his broken collarbone, Johnset said he's feeling pretty good now. He also revealed that this is his first fracture in 15 years of playing.
I feel fortunate to only have a broken collarbone after yesterday's accident. I had surgery this morning and am feeling pretty good right now (thanks to the painkillers), but yes, I hope to be out of here tomorrow. Fun fact: I've been cycling for 15 years, and this is my first real fracture. Thanks for all the messages and love, I really appreciate it. – Mille Johnset
We wish Mille all the best and hope she returns to the racing field soon.
