In excellent condition, the Italian immediately imposed the selection, dictating the pace and forcing her opponents to burn precious energy: I felt good, so I tried right after the start. Towards the end, the race became tactical; on the final climbs, I pushed the pace and gained the necessary advantage to control the final meters with ease. It's a great joy to share with the entire team and the national team staff, who, as always, assisted and supported us in the best possible way.

Coach Mirko Celestino doesn't hide his surprise for the Corvi match: “When she started in the lead, I was afraid she wouldn't be able to maintain that pace for the whole race. But she was right, demonstrating that she has great talent and perfect condition.”
The 20-year-old from Sondrio has thus given the Italian team its second continental title after the Team Relay title. With two races remaining, they've matched last year's tally of four medals and two titles. In 4, the other two medals were bronze, while this year's results are a silver and a bronze, both thanks to junior Brafa, who took bronze in the short track and silver in yesterday's XCO race.
