Tom Pidcock confirms his dominance at the 2025 MTB European Championships, winning his second continental gold in the cross-country after 2022. Starting from a lower position, he fought his way up to take the lead on the fifth lap, then clearly separating himself from his compatriot Charlie Aldridge, who lost ground from the sixth lap, finishing 36 seconds behind. Italian Juri Zanotti, after staying in the leading group for much of the race, struggled on the final lap and lost ground to his pursuers, ultimately finishing in eighth place, a position he maintained from the second lap until the finish.
concludes Celestino: "The start was incredible, with all three of our drivers in the top positions. Unfortunately, Luca Braidot had a technical problem and had to retire, while Avondetto had a puncture, losing a lot of time. Zanotti, on the other hand, drove an extraordinary race, fighting until the end."
