The true open-air playground for cycling lovers in all its guises will become the protagonist on screens all over the world thanks to the exciting challenges between the phenomena of international MTB starting from tomorrow afternoon, Friday 14 June, when the athletes of Elite and U23 categories will compete in the spectacular and always uncertain Short Track competitions.
Today, the athletes of Downhill instead they began to become familiar with the unmistakable theater of the Black Snake, one of the most challenging tracks on the world scene, in view of tomorrow's Qualifying Round and above all the finals on Saturday 15 June. Like every year, the Black Snake is a triumph of roots, rocks and drops to be tackled at breakneck speed where daring is not just an option.
At the same time, the Cross Country specialists also took to the track in Daolasa, awaited on Sunday 16 June by a very important test just six weeks before the Olympic Games in Paris. In the paddock of Val di Sole there was curiosity to discover the new sections of a route that has undergone numerous changes, especially in its final part.
“It's a very nice route, with new, faster and smoother sections. The ending, in particular, is different from previous years, very funny”, commented the Swiss Alessandra Keller.
The Belgian champion Pierre De Froidmont echoed the Swiss: “I like the changes, the route is very fast. If the ground is dry on Sunday, it could be a very fast and very tough race."
Daniele Braidot was also satisfied: “The new route suits my characteristics better. There aren't many areas where you can take a breather, it seems more challenging than in previous years. Now in the final it is possible to make a greater difference, and it gives a greater chance of being able to complete a solo action before the finish line.”
On Thursday evening the traditional event under the spotlight will also be renewed with the four-cross tightrope walkers as protagonists. The qualifications of the 21.00X Pro Tour Event are scheduled starting from 4 pm in view of the finals scheduled for tomorrow evening. In total, almost 800 athletes from all five continents will be competing in Val di Sole.

APPOINTMENTS AND PROTAGONISTS
Tomorrow, Friday 14 June, the official program of Downhill will start with the qualifications. At 12.00 the Italians Veronika Widmann, Gloria Scarsi and the thirty-year-old Eleonora Farina will take to the track on the Black Snake in the Elite Women's Qualifying Round, while at 12.30 it will be the Elite Men's turn. Appointment at 14.00 pm with the Junior Women's Qualifying Round, followed at 14.15 pm by the Junior Men with the eagerly awaited Chris Hauser, Val di Sole Bikeland athlete. Curiosity also for Tommaso Rocca, son of Giorgio, a very high level skier and also winner of an edition of the 3Tre in nearby Madonna di Campiglio. The semi-finals will follow, only for the Elite categories: the Women will take to the track again at 15.00 pm, followed by the Men at 15.30 pm.
In the afternoon there will also be space for the Short Track: Women and Men Elite will be competing at 17.15:17.50 and 23:18.40 respectively, live in Italy on Raiplay and Eurosport / Discovery +. The U19.15s close the program, with the men's race at XNUMX:XNUMX and the women's at XNUMX:XNUMX. The Short Track represents the first chance for the most anticipated Italians, Simone Avondetto, Luca Braidot and Martina Berta, to make their mark and try to earn a good starting position for the Cross Country on Sunday, which will see them again as protagonists.
In the evening, under the lights of Daolasa, the finals of the 4X Pro Series will come to life starting from 21pm.
Saturday 15 June will be the day of the Black Snake: the program includes the Junior Women's race at 11.30:12.00, followed by the Junior Men's at 13.15:14.00, Elite Women's at 17.00:XNUMX and Elite Men's at XNUMX:XNUMX. Both Elite races will be broadcast live in Italy by Raisport and Eurosport/Discovery+. In the afternoon, at XNUMX:XNUMX, it will be the children who will get into action with the GIANT Mini World Cup of Cross Country.
On Sunday 16th June, as per tradition, Cross Country will close the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series programme in Val di Sole, with the giant Nino Schurter, ten times World Champion, looking for his eighth laurel in Val di Sole, while Simone Avondetto will show off the European Champion jersey won in Romania for the first time. The U23 Women's race will start at 09.00am, followed by Elite Women at 11.15am, Elite Men at 14.00pm and U23 Men at 16.00pm. Both Elite tests will be broadcast live on Raiplay and Eurosport/Discovery+.

THERE'S MORE BEYOND THE RACE: PETER SAGAN AND AN EVENT TO EXPERIENCE
For the many who want to experience the spectacle of the great Mountain Bike on the field, the fun will not end at the finish line and with the awards ceremony on the podium: in Val di Sole there will in fact be numerous moments dedicated to music, fun and brand activation of the partner companies of Val di Sole Bikeland.
A concert by the band "The Rumpled" is scheduled for Friday 14 June at 22.00pm, followed by a DJ Set at 24.00pm. On Saturday 15th there will be two Bikeflip Shows at 11.00 and 16.00, the Wasabi Live aperitif at 19.00, while the closing of the evening will be entrusted to the unmissable Bikeland Party, which will continue until late at night. On Sunday 16 June, at the end of the competitions, the traditional party for athletes, staff and volunteers is scheduled for 17.00pm.
On Sunday, a special guest will also be arriving in Daolasa, Peter Sagan, the three-time world champion in road cycling who won one of the first laurels of his career at the 2008 World Championships in Val di Sole: the gold medal in the Junior Cross Country category.
