A day entirely dedicated to Short Track at the MTB World Championships underway in Zermatt, Valais. The Italian team had little success: the best result came from the Elite Men, with Luca Braidot finishing 7th and Simone Avondetto 9th in the race won by Frenchman Victor Koretzky. Among the Elite Women, Chiara Teocchi placed 11th; the race went to Switzerland's Alessandra Keller.
In the Under 23 categories, no successes for the Italians: among the men, success went to Frenchman Adrien Boichis, and among the women to Canadian Isabella Holmgren.

At the end, CT Mirko Celestino commented: “I expected a little more. It was a tough short track: in 20 minutes and on a very tough course (about 2 minutes per lap), you couldn't make any mistakes; you needed to get off to a good start, with the right pace. Luca Braidot hovered between sixth and tenth without managing to get the front wheel; Avondetto held his own well, considering he also didn't immediately find his rhythm. Chiara Teocchi had a good performance in the women's category. In the U23 category, we didn't have any significant placings. Now let's focus on Thursday's relay: it's one of the best races, and I'm confident we'll do well.”

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
