Rebecca Henderson will not be competing in the XC World Cup

The reason? A bad fall during the XCO national championships, which cost her a fracture to her shoulder and thumb.

There is no good news from Australia for Rebecca Henderson fans: the Orbea Fox Factory Team champion will be forced to miss the start of the 2025 XCO World Cup.

It all happened on the first lap of the race, with Henderson hitting the ground badly. Despite the pain and the prohibitive weather conditions, the champion did not give up and gritted her teeth until the end, even managing to take home the 21st XCO National Title.

After the finish line, the diagnosis was merciless: fractured shoulder and thumb, but fortunately no surgery. However, the cancellation for the first races in Brazil is inevitable.

On social media, Henderson reassured everyone: "Missing the start of the World Cup is tough. Last year I gave everything to get back to the top, and I did it. Now I'll start again from there." Now Henderson begins the rehabilitation phase, with a clear goal in mind: to return to being a protagonist in the second part of the season.

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
