Also this year Merida Italy, the Italian division of the Taiwanese company, intends to be a protagonist in off-road competitions. The Merida Fristads Comes team for 2024 was presented at the Reggio Emilia headquarters, with a ceremony in which athletes, bikes and programs for the season ahead were announced. The team, with four new faces compared to 2023, is made up of 17 riders, of which 13 young people from the Beginner to Elite categories and four Masters. A roster that allows the team to participate in different level competitions and help young people grow in the world of Italian mtb enduro.

Confirmed at the helm of the team is Bruno Zanchi, captain of the team and its leading athlete (among the Masters). Ex pro in Downhill, boasts the world and European titles as Juniors in 1991, a World Cup stage (in Sweden) and another European in 1998. «After last year's successes I am enthusiastic about the season that is about to begin. The new guys are very interesting and, after trying the new bikes, we can't keep them still despite the adverse weather!" said Bruno Zanchi.
During the presentation the ONE-SIXTY was revealed which will be used in Enduro races. While for the e-Enduro races the team will have the brand new eONE-SIXTY just launched by Merida at its disposal. «We can't wait to be able to use the new Merida eONE-SIXTY and take them to the top step of the podium – continued the rider from Bergamo – As for me, unfortunately due to a small accident in training I will have to miss the first races, but this will be an excellent opportunity to be more present at the stand and help our athletes grow in all phases of their race. Young people are clamoring and must not be stopped!
The team presentation was also an opportunity to congratulate the athletes who achieved the best results in the past season: Bruno Zanchi, Italian M5 and e-Bike 3 champion; Lelia Tasso, Italian Elite Master champion; Davide De Santis, Italian Allievi champion; Alberto Zanchi, Italian M3 champion; Martino Lani, overall Italian e-Bike vice-champion.
