The calendar of the five races that will award the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the “marathon” format in 2025 has been made official: under the title of HERO UCI CROSS-COUNTRY MARATHON WORLD CUP, the international circuit is born, capable of valorizing professional athletes and welcoming amateurs into the same races.

Mountain biking in its “marathon” format is capable of welcoming the strongest international interpreters of the discipline and, at the same time, of allowing thousands of amateur bikers to compete on the same track and in the same event with the elite of the movement.
The organizers of HERO Südtirol Dolomites know this well and, with 15 years of experience in putting together the toughest and most spectacular mountain bike marathon in the world, have become the coordinators and promoters of the newly created HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP, the official name of the circuit that the International Cycling Union (UCI) wanted to create in a calendar of five high-profile races.
An agreement that arises from a long and fruitful relationship between HERO and UCI, ever since the race in the Dolomites hosted the UCI Marathon World Championship in 2015, and which today lays the foundations for a wide-ranging international initiative, with the aim of contributing to the growth of the competitive movement, in a project that will see UCI and HERO work together for the next four years.
The calendar will involve five of the most popular European mountain bike marathons which will be united for the first time in the same circuit under the aegis of the UCI.
From Italy passing through Andorra, Germany and Spain, five stages and thousands of bikers at the start. This is how the HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP calendar presents itself in its first version 2025:
- 10/05/25: ITA – Capoliveri Legend Cup, Capoliveri-Elba Island
- 01/06/25: AND – Naturland, Andorra
- 14/06/25: ITA – HERO Südtirol Dolomites, Selva Val Gardena
- 13/07/25: GER – Black Forest ULTRA Bike Marathon, Kirchzarten
- 21/09/25: SPA – La Tramun Sea Otter Europe, Girona

The name HERO stands out in the name HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP as the organizers of Selva Val Gardena will take care of the coordination activities of the events on the calendar, the professional teams, the management of the regulations and the related results, as well as the responsibility for marketing and communication both towards the media and on social channels.

The athletes who will be able to compete for the final ranking of the UCI World Cup are naturally those who compete in the Elite men's and women's categories, but the big news for the 2025 edition is the expansion of the results reserved for men and women bikers in the Master Licence category, provided they are registered with their national federation affiliated to the UCI.
Participants will have to regularize their participation with each individual race on the calendar and participation will automatically contribute to the general ranking: the HERO UCI MARATHON WORLD CUP organization will update the results after each stage, which can be consulted on the website www.heroucimarathonworldcup.com.
