On 20 and 21 July the Italian Ski Championships were held in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Downhill in a single test and in Sunday's heat, on a track considered perfect by the organizers and the many riders present, the best national athletes challenged each other to the sound of hundredths of a second and the winners in the top class/Open Male and Female were: Sardinian Davide Palazzari, who confirms himself as the fastest again this year and climbs to the top step of the podium, with Stefano Introzzi second at his side and Loris Revelli third; the Ligurian Gloria Scarsi beats all the predictions and also the new World Cup winner Eleonora Farina, second, and wins the tricolor jersey that was worn by the third placed Veronika Widmann.
A very intense day for everyone, with a huge audience following all phases of the race on the Lucifer track, protagonist of the Cortina Bike Land. A route that is not particularly long but very technical and physical, all undergrowth, with terrain that has perfectly drained the water that fell from the previous days and almost every evening with summer storms.
Nothing could be taken for granted and it was known that victories in the various categories would be determined by minimal gaps.
In addition to the winners of the Open, the athletes who won the tricolor jersey in both the men's and women's categories were: Filippo Gilardino and Rebecca Bruno – Students, Riccardo Vender and Matilde Bianchetti – Rookies, Christian Hauser and Clarissa Carzoglio – Juniors.
In the Master 1 victory went to Bruno De Carvalho Dada and Martina Fumagalli, in the M2 Daniele Pianigiani, in the M3 Mirko Sbalzer and Tiziana T. Finocchio, in the M4 Paolo Alleva, M5 Oscar Colombo, M6 Danilo Piergiovanni, M7 Graziano Sala, M8 Enzo Lippa Giordani, Elite Sport Francesco Mazzoni and Sofia del Bono.
Many FCI authorities present on the race field starting from the Vice President Ruggero Cazzaniga, the President of the Off-Road Commission Massimo Ghirotto, Valentina Massa of the Commission and the National Coach Simone Tartana Fabbri, all awarding the champions together with Alessandra Biasin, representing of Tofana, and Alessandro Zoppelli, of the Cortina Bike Land of Tofana and Dolomiti Bike Company.
