European DH Championships: title to Lisa Baumann and Andreas Kolb

Lisa Baumann and Andreas Kolb will wear the European Champions shirts for a year Downhill Mountain Bike in the Elite category. The Italians did well but were off the podium.

Fourth place for Eleonora Farina and 7th place for Stefano Introzzi. Followed by many other Italian athletes in the top 20.

The Swiss rider and the Austrian won the continental titles today in Champéry (Switzerland) at the end of a particularly intense weekend which saw a total of 587 athletes from 27 countries (including the masters) at the starting line.

In the women's race, local athlete Lisa Baumann won with a time of 3'33"50 ahead of reigning world champion Valentina Höll of Austria (3'35"35) and Frenchwoman Marine Cabirou, who finished with the time of 3'35” 49.

In the men's race the gold medal went to world vice champion Andreas Kolb (Austria). Kolb, already winner of the 2022 European Championship, finished with a time of 3'02"61, leaving behind the British Matt Walker (3'05"59) and the Frenchman Loïc Martin, third with a time of 3'05" 85.

In the Junior category, success went to the Swede Ella Svegby and the French Max Alran.

Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: “Champéry proved to be the perfect venue for this event, with an ideal environment that will certainly benefit the region in terms of its image. The recently concluded European Championships represented an important moment in view of the 2025 World Championships, which will take place in Valais, and therefore allowed all those involved, from the athletes to the national teams, from the organization to the public, to start prepare for next year.
