The rain has stopped and the dust has finally settled at the 2025 Absa Cape Epic, allowing riders to race on paved trails on the Queen Stage of this year’s event. The UCI Men’s and Aramex UCI Women’s categories took full advantage of the best riding conditions to race at full speed from Fairview to Lourensford Wine Estate.

Annika Langvad and Sofia Gomez Villafane (Toyota | Specialized) took the stage five road win, with Langvad taking her 36th career Absa Cape Epic stage win and Gomez Villafane her sixth. It was also their sixth consecutive stage win of the 2025 event. With two stages remaining, it looks likely that Langvad will add a sixth title to her Absa Cape Epic honours and Gomez Villafane a well-deserved second.

Overall, Annika Langvad and Sofia Gomez Villafane (Toyota | Specialized) fell short on stage five, but the unflappable pair still reigned supreme on the Queen Stage, taking a sixth consecutive stage win at this year's event.
