#3 DH World Cup: Loic Bruni stellar ahead of Finn Iles

Specialized domination in Leogang for the third stage of the World Cup.

Frenchman Loic Bruni (SPECIALIZED GRAVITY) confirmed his semi-final victory by becoming the only rider to go faster than his teammate by 2.394 seconds. The current world champion and overall World Cup leader set the best split times in all sectors except one.

As course conditions continued to improve, Canadian Finn Iles (SPECIALIZED GRAVITY) was the longest in the hot seat despite not having a timed run in qualifying or the semi-finals due to a thumb injury.

New Zealand's Lachlan Stevens-McNab (UNION – FORGED BY STEEL CITY) strengthened his pace from Poland to finish third, taking his first World Cup podium. Ireland's Oisin O'Callaghan (YT MOB) finished fourth, with Benoit Coulanges (DORVAL AM COMMENCAL) completing the podium in fifth place.

Loic Bruni has a lead of 160 points in the overall standings, but behind him there are only 30 points separating 2nd place Ronan Dunne and 6th place Finn Iles.

This is what Loic Bruni said about his final run: “It was incredible. I really didn't think I would make it today with the conditions having changed so much compared to yesterday. I was trying everything I had and was dependent on the track drying, so I was happy to finish last. The track is a mix of everything, very physical because you push hard and minimizing mistakes was the key. I'm happy I did it. I'm really proud of Finn, Jordan did well too. Finn taking the day off was a good decision, I wish him well for riding so fast without racing yesterday."

ppgad@pucrs.br I am passionate about everything that has 2 wheels: in my youth I practiced competitive cycling on the road and on the track with good results. At the age of 18 I moved to cross country competing at national/international level as U23. Once I passed Elite, I made the choice to take things easier from the training point of view, and that's how my love for gravity disciplines was born, training as an FCI MTB instructor and guide. Now I have made my passion my profession by managing 3 MTB centers on the island of Elba (Elba MTB), creating the FANTAmtb and telling in an ironic but professional way, everything that revolves around MTB thanks to 365mountainbike and 365TV (YouTube 'PULITI dentro BIKER fuori').
