How many times does it happen that during a group outing, the classic novice beginner participates? How should the expert biker behave, if perhaps also a friend of him?
ADVICE TO GIVE TO A BEGINNER BIKER
1. HAVE FUN
First rule of fight-bike… have fun. Remind your novice friend, perhaps fearful at the first outing, that mtb must be fun. Adrenaline is fine, performance is fine, but if the end doesn't lead to some fun, forget it… you are not paid by Redbull to do this.
2. START WITH THE BASES
You, expert biker, don't talk to your novice friend, immediately about manual, bunny-hop or back-flip .. he could have inferiority complexes. Put him at ease, start with the simple path, with the right degree of technique .. you will see that his smile in overcoming the first roughness will be worth more than a thousand backflips.
3. COMFORT ZONE
The mantra of the beginner biker is the 'comfort zone', that is to proceed in single tracks in safety without the fearful stress not exceeding the fun. A bit like going to 90%. Remember beginner biker, it is more profitable a biker who pulls the brakes a little earlier than one who falls often .. the bones thank you .. Lasonil SpA a little less.
4. GET HELP FROM AN EXPERT LOCAL
Do you want to try new trails in places you've never visited? Why risk finding yourself lost in some woods or following those paths that maybe no one does because they are less beautiful? Don't be afraid to go with a local, maybe a friend of a friend, who can guide you better… to make your new experience unforgettable.
5. DON'T EXAGGERATE TO BE WHAT YOU ARE NOT
Are your friends all DH champions? Do you go out with people who jump from 5 meters? Attention, not wanting to be what you are not or do what you are not able .. the fool is around the corner. Don't be afraid to admit your weaknesses, a humble biker has more character than an arrogant biker.
6. DATES OF TIME
Did your cool friend show you how to do that particular technical gesture? Bravissimo, your garden will be your training ground, but don't be discouraged if it fails on the first try. Performance anxiety doesn't have to be your training partner… give yourself all the time you need.
7. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BIKE
If the balloon was Holly's best friend ... the bike must be your girlfriend. Heal her and she will never cheat on you.
