In a path that is not at all technical but still fascinating for a short track, the women's race was held. Women's race that sees the full start of Lena Gerault, an athlete born in 1995 who has never managed to win important titles at an international level but only at a national level.

Halfway through the race Rebecca Mcconnell tries to select the leading group with a powerful acceleration, but Alessandra Keller, Jolanda Neff (who seems to be in good shape), Anne Terpstra and gradually all the others respond well. In front we also find the American Gibson, winner at Snowshoe, in a New Zealand-style all-black suit.
With 2 laps to go, it is Gibson who counterattacks McConnell but no spring and in front we find: Gibson, Keller, McConnell, Courtney, Neff, Gerault, Terpstra and Bohe.
Last lap at heart-pounding and very hard-fought: the course is not technical at all and therefore no one can make a difference. A very exciting sprint finish is expected because there are at least 4 athletes who can win. On the last climb there is a strong attack from Gibson and Keller, with Neff and Terpstra brilliant in responding. McConnell loses a few meters.
In the last lap, Jolanda Neff, Gwendalyn Gibson and Alessandra Keller, the athlete who created this change of pace, make the difference. Before the last corner, however, Jolanda Neff shows a very brilliant leg overcoming Keller and gaining a few meters. Nothing can Gibson and Keller, who have to settle for 2nd and 3rd place. Nice 10th place for Martina Berta.
