The new BHZ by SEG motor stands out for being an extremely light motor, weighing just 2,1 kg, and compact, ideal for giving life to a new generation of e-bikes in which the aesthetic line between electric bicycles and the conventional ones become less and less perceptible.

On a technical level, the new engine offers 65 Nm of torque with a peak power of 500 W, but the big innovations come in the management of assistance.
The BHZ by SEG motor has three advanced sensors (torque, speed and cadence) with which it takes more than 1.000 readings per second, to offer an immediate response in every situation.
All the information collected by the sensors is processed by a new microprocessor that acts with a specific objective: to offer progressive and natural assistance that completes the ride without being invasive. The power delivery is thus commensurate with the level of effort made: the more powerful the pedaling and the higher the cadence, the greater the assistance.
New Features of the BHZ Engine by SEG
Uphill pre-charge: the BHZ by SEG engine includes engine pre-charge, to restart uphill without any difficulty. This means that if you continue after stopping on a slope, the motor will activate instantly, without the need to pedal and making the first few meters of the ascent easier.
Immediate braking: when you stop pedaling, the motor immediately removes assistance to avoid skidding, eliminating the sensation of losing control of the bicycle. In fact, the new sensors, combined with the capacity of the new microprocessor, allow an immediate response from the engine.
Progressive reduction of assistance when reaching the speed limit: the BHZ by SEG motor offers a very soft, progressive and imperceptible cut of assistance as the speed threshold is reached, generating a more natural sensation in pedaling.
Silent: the BHZ by SEG motor is even smoother and quieter, becoming one of the quietest on the market.
More autonomy: thanks to the optimization of assistance based on the specific needs of the cyclist, autonomy is increased by 20%.
The battery revolution: more energy density than ever
The BHZ by SEG engine is equipped with new cells that allow increasing energy capacity without increasing the size of the battery. With the introduction of the 21700 5,8 Ah cells, a battery weighing only 2,6 kg with a capacity of 630 Wh was created, the highest energy density currently available on the market.
The advantages of this new battery go beyond the increase in autonomy and also contribute to obtaining a low center of gravity and the possibility of designing compact and elegant frames without compromising autonomy.
You can also expand capacity by adding the XPro 180 Wh external battery, whose installation requires no additional cables.
iRemote Command and New iConnectz App
The BHZ by SEG motor is controlled via the iRemote remote control. The iRemote has three buttons and a visual indicator with four LEDs to quickly check the battery level. It can be connected with Garmin devices to view all system information clearly on the cycle computer.
An important aspect is the arrival of the new iConnectz app, with which you can customize all key engine features and assistance levels.
Brand “by SEG”, Made in Europe
SEG Automotive is a leading company in the automotive world. The German company has a production plant in Spain (specifically in Tetro, Cantabria) and is known for the quality of its products, which meet the highest standards of the automotive sector.
The new BHZ by SEG engine is manufactured in Spain, which leads to greater quality control and facilitates the development of all kinds of upgrades.
iLynx Trail and iLynx Race Carbon, the first models with the BHZ by SEG engine
The BHZ by SEG motor is already a reality, present in two models of the vast range of BH e-bikes in which its characteristics of lightness, small size, silence and fluidity of assistance adapt perfectly: the iLynx Trail and the iLynx Race Carbon.
Both models have common features, such as a design very similar to their muscular versions, the Split Pivot suspension system and a high level of integration, including cable routing through the head tube and integrated seat post lock. Both models feature the BlockLock system which limits handlebar rotation to 120º and can be equipped with the FIT tool system, integrated into the head tube.
Both e-mtbs start from a lightweight carbon frame made with Hollow Core Internal Molding technology. For reference, the weight of the iLynx Race Carbon frame is just 2.065 grams, a competitive figure even compared to a conventional bike. From here, there are assemblies that reach a final weight in the 17kg range. In the case of the iLynx Trail the weight of the frame is 2.200 grams.
The BH iLynx Trail also uses Ballistic carbon, which is more resistant to impacts, with additional reinforcement to deal with the more gravity use for which it is intended. To obtain maximum rigidity and the clean design that distinguish it, it adopts the SuperBoost rear axle. The iLynx Trail is also available in a version with an aluminum frame, which allows for installations at a more affordable price. Depending on the version, you will have 140 or 150 mm of rear travel.
In the case of the BH iLynx Race Carbon you have 120 mm of rear travel.
There are six mountings of the BH iLynx Trail, with prices starting from €4.299. The iLynx Race Carbon is available in three configurations, with a starting price of €6.299.
